help with wires behind guages
« on: September 19, 2011, 05:10:20 PM »
hey guys i just put my guage panel back together and there are three lights i dont know where to put them in the circuit board?  one comes from over by the ash tray, the other two are in the wiring by the spedo cable and main harness for the circuit board.  the ash tray one is one wire.  the other two lights r two wires....brown and whit and pink w/brown stripe and white.  all of the other light bulbs r just twisty things i put behind the cirbuit board but i forgot where to hook these "wired" light sockets
any help?

Did you take the one that illuminates the wiper switch out?

here's some pics for you guys.  i need help knowing where to plug these lights in.  the first one is a wire that is coming off the top of the ash tray

the second one is brown and white wires going into a lamp receptacle

and the third is blue and pink wires going to a lamp receptacle..
i just need to know where to plug these into on the back.  my truck is a diesel so in the third pic you can see the glow plug light.  once i know where to plug these i can determine where to put all of the removable lights that twist into the circuit board.  thanks for any help

Not sure what year you have.  On our '84 C10 Silverado SWB the light by the Ashtray goes to a socket that shines down on the floor when the interior lights are on.

See if one of them goes to the Heater/AC assembly- gray and black wires.
See if another might go to the Low Coolant Warning light-the wiring schematic actually shows pink and gray wires.

What's up with the wire nuts and scotch locks? Do you have gauges or idiot lights?
