In the mornings my truck starts after like 10 cranks with me holding my foot to the floor. I have a 650 Edelbrock electric choke and i guess its hooked up to the ignition but i haven't checked. (its hooked up to a wire coming out of the alternator) and when its at warm running temperature it takes me a couple cranks to start it, like 4 or 5, with my foot to the floor. If my foots not to the floor it just cranks. Whats wrong?

Check the choke to make sure it's working.

How would i see if its working, hook it straight up to the positive side of my battery to trigger it while looking down the barrels?

when the engine is cold, push the gas pedal, the choke plate should close all the way. A cold engine would start easily then.
After about a minute of idling the engine, punch the gas, the plate should be all the way open. A warm engine will start easily then.
