Broken window regulator...?
« on: August 22, 2013, 09:43:20 AM »
I was at the gas station and started rolling my driver window down ( power windows) and something broke and fell to the bottom of the door. I took the door panel off to find some parts in the bottom of the door. I'm guessing that the part is the piece b/w the motor and regulator that actually moves the regulator up and down. Anyone know if you can get this part or do you have to order a whole regulator?  It's a 1985 chevy silverado. The part was round with two different O.D.'s on it.

I just redid my power windows and can't seem to picture what part you're describing.  Maybe you could provide a picture?

I don't know how to post pics. Can someone show me a picture of what the motor moves to take the window up and down?

If you can find a picture I have what you need.  I have a door that is power that I didn't scrap because I wanted the tinted window.

well good news its replaceable, and its a roller and rivet deal you might be able to get zeig to send you one. hes a good guy
i would just think you have to get a rivet from a hardware store. but im seeing them at a local parts store in the help section, but im not seeing one for our trucks

I used to work in GM parts, those rollers usually come with the regulator part(scissor looking part w/cables). If memory serves, it isn't available separate from the regulator.

Appreciate the help fellas. I needed a regulator. The arm broke on it. Finally got around to fixing it this week.
