purge solenoid

Hey guys im a lil confused here and would like to know where it goes and what connects where  with this solnoid i got for my 86 chevy c10 and is this solenoid important? What does it do if. anyone knows thanks...i like to see pictures if anyone has that solenoid in there truck thanks

I don't recognize it.  Where did it come from and what was the setup that it came off of?  Engine/Trans?

I have an 1986 chevy c10 short bed and it had a 305 with a 700r4 tranny and a stock quadrajet 4bbl... california emissions i know one of those tubes goes to the carb but not shure wich one and where it bolts on to i forgot since i replaced my engine and put a crate 350 in it
