Title: carb issue

Can't seem to get the fast idle to kick down on my quadrajet unless I manually move the linkage.  It has an electric choke on it, so I thought that was supposed to handle the fast idle.  Any thoughts?  83 sliverado, 350 automatic.  Not the original engine, no electronic controls on the carb.

You have to make a choke unloader adjustment.Do you have a service manuel.Most have carb adjustment instructions.

Have you made sure the linkage is not binding from the accel pedal to the carb?
