If u bought it at a store u could take it back and get a smaller one...like a 3 inch..then u could put it on the steering wheel

I'm hoping you installed it on the steering column, not the steering wheel.

I like to lean into the corners, especially being a prior F-Body owner and present Corvette owner, but the rotation of the neck around the corners is too much for me, lol  :)

You know im debateing the same question. I have an auto and would like to install a big tach. I dont like the idea of installing even a small one on the steering coloum or on the dash because its just something else that in the way if I have to take the dash a part.
Why not install it on the roof so its hanging down to either the left or right of you? 7" tach might be to big for that?
What about to the right of the radio? Right on the metal corner of the dash? Only thing I dont like about this is my kids. I let them drive from time to time on my lap and with them slideing over from the passenger side to my side to drive im thinking they would be hitting it with their boots all the time.

I think your best bet is on the dash to the right of the dash bezel if you are going with an external tach

The trouble with that is then everytime you take that dash off then your going to have to disconect that tach. Seems with me im always taking my dash a part for something.

You know your probable right. On the dash to the right of the driver would be the spot.If you put it low, to the right of the radio, that is going to be to far down to be looking. Same deal with mounting it on the roof. Your going to have to take your eyes quite a bit off the road to see it.
