Ok, we got the frame shortened and found a stepside bed to put on her but dang, now the rear of the truck looks like a 4 wheel drive!

I'm thinking about an axel flip now.

Who has done this with a good outcome ?

I'd rather not do the C notch!  This ol girl will not be worked or carry anything heavier than a couple of sacks of Deer feed from now on.

You can lower the rear end with shackles and spring hangers up to 4 inch. That ought to level it out. A lot less work then axle flip and c notch.

Post some pics of the frame shortening.

I did an axle flip and it isn't that much work.  Un-do U Bolts (8 nuts), un-do the shackles (4 bolts) and remove shocks from axle (2 bolts).  Slide springs under the axle and blt it back up with the new flip kit in place and bolt it back togther.  Yopu'll get 6" at least out of it.  I did this and did not notch the frame and havem't hit yet.  Maybe if you actually put stuff back there.

Not sure how hard the spring hangers are to install so I can't comment on it.

Plan on lowering the front 2" or 3" (2" lowering spindles and maybe 1" with coils).

Did you remove the leaf springs/shocks one side at a time to help keep the axel in line?
