24/7 Oil Leak
« on: March 14, 2019, 08:30:14 PM »
 Hey everybody,

I've got my 84 Custom Deluxe with a 350SB up on jackstands to get some new tires on the wheels. And I seem to have an oil drip all the time. There is a lot of oil all over the underside of the pan, starter, and front part of the automatic transmission. The truck has not been started for about two weeks, but continues to drip. I'm assuming any leaks higher up on the engine would have dripped themselves out by now?

I think that rules out the valve cover gaskets, I put new ones on a few days ago because they had been seeping oil onto the exhaust manifold previously when running the engine.

What are the likely culprits I should check first?

best thing is to clean it up and see where its leaking from.

I’d put the UV dye in and when you wear the special glasses and use the special light the leak will show up literally Ike a neon sign

I’ve used it to find oil and water leaks that were super hard to pinpoint
