Parking brake cable grommet...?
« on: November 29, 2018, 01:16:11 PM »
Hi: I have a 76 C-20 2wd. Referring to the photo attached to this message, you see the parking brake cable on the pass side running through a hole in a bracket attached to the frame. Is there supposed to be a grommet or something in this bracket hole? The cable is not wearing out but it is starting to burnish in the hole. I cannot find out if there is a sleeve or grommet in the hole because the repair and parts manuals do not detail this as far as I can tell. I am interested only in restoring back to OEM...no modifications or adapted parts are desired. If anyone knows, it would be appreciated.
Regards,
Henry

There is a reproduction plastic grommet available for that online.

In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!

Hi:
So yes, I was able to find a reproduction grommet from Classis Parts of America that fit perfectly. Also was a easy and drama free installation. Thanks, bd.
