Title: Finishing Engine break in on my 78

I finished breaking in my 1978 K-10 over the weekend.  After that, I hooked up the kickdown on the tranny, then it was off to the old dark, secluded highway for some fun.  Well, it works very well, it kicked down when I stepped into it at 55 and got up to 85 in a few seconds(3 or 4 )... it had one drawback... the nose came up, enough to lose some steering ability.  Had to let out of it, also figured that was enough for the engine for one night.

Change the oil again.

Yup, just about due for that isn't it.  Will probably do that Saturday.

I hope you broke the cam in right.  Run a brand new engine for 20 minutes at 2000 rpms.  This kicks the oil up and around the cam and lifters initial lubrication.

After the first 500 miles, feel free to burn rubber until your heart is content.

Yes, I did do that.  Actually got the valves preset to close enought to run it for about 2 hours before I set them again.  Then it was perfect.  Will be changing oil and running valves again this weekend(Got to change valve covers)
