I was just kidding about your finger... ::)

Well, at least you found where it's coming from.

They aren't that hard to change out if you have the tools and patience.

If you try to tackle it, remember that the fan shroud (most pain in the butt) splits at the half, so you can take the top half off. Saves a lot of time and aggravation.

hey i noticed that the leak is coming from a strange area. like the area where the fan blades are bolted to the water pump i will circle exact location of the leak in picture below. im guessing that means i need a new water pump and possibly something else.

in photo i circled area. it is literally spraying/leaking from behind that pully and pouring down onto pully below. i have put arrow on spot

Looks like you're going to be the proud new owner of a GM water pump!

If you got down under the front with a strong light, you will see a small hole on the bottom side of the pump, right where you're describing.

When the pump shaft seal goes, that's where it leaks.

When you replace the pump, consider using a Stewart Stage One high flow water pump.  The stage one cast iron pump isn't a lot more expensive than a stock pump, but has a better impeller than a stock GM pump, and will move more water.

That's a good tip Bruce!

I wasn't aware of a higher volume pump.

Makes even more sense for a BB.

I'll keep it in mind when I finally get my C-10 back together!

It should be just an even swap with your current hardware nuts and bolts.

Keep in mind, these manufacturers would suggest that you replace all your truck parts just because...follow the money!

I would ask if they come with gaskets, most do.
