Title: NP241 passenger drop identification and wiring
Post by: MuddiGGEr25 on September 02, 2017, 09:04:03 AM
I've had a real hard time coming up with much or any info on the np241 passenger side drop tcase. The gm literature says this burb has a 700r4 ( 27 spline) and np241. Its a 1991 v1500 with a 350 and 3.73 gear ratio.  I have attached a pic of the tail housing for the tcase and it appears to have a speed sensor which I can use for my 1995 tbi 454ss so it can have its normal input for shift points. Can anyone help me verify this? I don't have the DRAC module wiring, but from another post I had the diagram says the tcase speed sensor splits to the speedo and cruise control and the original signal is passed to the PCM or TCM. I don't have an electronic speedo or electronic cruise so I just need to know if I can fee that signal to my PCM

i want to say yes, cant say for sure. But i can tell you they used the same sensors from 88-99. i dont see why not since 95 was the last year of the tbi and pretty much the same setup as 91

well i got under there, and started disassembly (my God there is a ton of rust), anyway i looked up the speed sensor for a 1991 V1500 5.7L/700r4 suburban and the part no was the same for a 1995 K2500 7.4L/4l80E TBI setup, so the signal will be the same, i just have to find which of the 2  connectors i need to plug it into, as both of them had the same connector but i dont know which one goes where i needed it to, so ill have to scrape up those wiring diagrams again

might be able to tell by which wires are longer? or have a kink in from that bend?
