3/4 ton vs 1 ton frame
« on: September 05, 2015, 09:17:52 AM »
Hi does anyone know the physical weight of a bare 3/4 ton frame and a 1 ton frame on 4 wheel drive from the 73-87 gm trucks? Was wondering if there was much difference. Also are the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton frames the same. Thanks

The 1/2 T and 3/4 T frames are the same.  The one ton frames are thicker and taller in the middle.  I don't know the weight difference.  Welcome to the site.

½ ton frames are about 6" tall and 5/32 thick
¾ ton frames are about 6" tall and about 3/64" thicker than the ½ tons
1 ton frames are about 8" taller and share the same thickness as the ¾ ton frames
