Title: 82 Stepside Rear Window ?
Post by: Dapumpkin on October 18, 2021, 09:47:28 AM
My build (1982 C10 Stepside) started off with a sliding rear window. I now want a solid rear window. I noticed on   truck for solid rear window it mentions "Rear Window Rubber does not fit trucks with factory sliding window."

Are factory slider window dimensions different from a solid rear window dimensions? Will a solid not fit in a factory sliding?

Any one prefer a company over another a for solid rear window + Gasket?  (Clear - No Trim)

Welcome from SoCal San Diego!

Looks like a nice project you've got going there.

The factory window opening is the same for solid and sliding.

The rubber seals are different due to the dimensions of the solid vs slider.

I see you have stumbled on a company that will remain "unnamed" for reason that precede my membership.

Maybe someone with knowledge can get us up to speed as to why, if it matters anyway... ;)

I guess I was saying a bad word. Did not realize that. (hand smack) Thought it was odd it kept disappearing.

Appreciate the clarification about the window opening. I always thought the opening was the same, until "badword" Truck confused me with some small print.

If you are using the factory slider, the replacement slider gasket is for an aftermarket slider like CR Lawrence. If you are using solid glass or the factory slider, use the factory style solid gasket. The reason you are getting your word deleted is due to the promotion of a different company when you could be buying it from here and supporting this website. Email Chris for the gaskets you need. webmaster@73-87chevytrucks.com
