Title: Project direction - what to do. Green 81 2wd 6cyl custom
Post by: DHINMN on September 14, 2022, 03:13:44 PM

I plan to do new tires, seats and get everything functioning on this 1981 Green/Green C10 Deluxe regular cab long bed 2wd 6 cyl with 65K on the clock.
The truck had the zeebart treatment from the dealer.  Do I paint it too?  Where to stop on this one?  I don't see a hot rodder wanting this so maybe it should be sold as a used truck only so that looks don't matter that much. What would you do.

Kind of depends on your wallet/desire.  Being a long bed, I don't think it'll ever achieve the following that shortbeds have, so it's not going to be a flip-for-profit truck.

Personally, I'd scrub it up, fix whatever issues there are, and drive it.

Drive it as is and be proud of it.

If you do decide to sell it, detail it inside and out.

People "buy with the eye".

Can't believe how many times I've looked at cars/trucks to buy that are filthy inside and out.

On the other hand, I've bought solid vehicles when I look past the dirt.
