Some cool old cars
« on: August 20, 2020, 02:27:58 PM »
I stopped by a buddy of mines shop today to drop off a piece Iíd machined for him. Donnie does picture car work for the movies, but has been subsidizing himself during the pandemic with any paying car work. Thereís always cool stuff there, in addition to the piles of Crown Victoriaís and Chargers done up to look like cop cars from everywhere, real and fictional.

Iíll start with a square body so I donít get yelled at:

The body is PERFECT!!! From the outside itíll look mostly stock, I believe itís lowered a bit. Under the hood is an LS1... Iím not sure of the transmission and theyíve completely rewired the whole truck. Should be a nice ride when theyíre done.

Older K/10:

From what you could tell this one was bone-stock.

I donít know WHY???, but 2020 also seems to be the year of the Land Rover... Donnie has this series one, and another friend is restoring a Defender 90 and yet another friend has three Defender 110ís that are gonna be RADICAL!
The 110ís my other buddy is building will also likely be completely un-driveable. One has an LS7 and one has a Scott Morris (SME) that guarantees 1200!!! horsepower, IF they can figure out how to get the required 2 1/4Ē primaries, 4Ē exhaust and inter cooler plumbing into the chassis.
Hereís the 90 Donnie is working on:

I do like the pickup body, though I doubt I would fit in it.

A 37(?) Chevy:

Donnie says the guy wanted to ďrat-rodĒ it. Itís all original and complete. Not a car to cut up. Heís standing down while the guy decides what heís gonna do.

This ďgoatĒ is waiting itís turn:

From the front end camber Iím guessing itís also waiting on an engine...

Iím not a Mopar guy... Charger?!?:

Waiting for the owner to pick it up.

And then this thing:

Iím not entirely sure WHAT it is... gun to my head Iíd guess itís one of the Carroll Shelby-Dodge collaborations of the late 80ís, but I really donít know. Strange for sure.

Anyhow, it was a fun little field trip and I figured Iíd share the highlights.

Be safe and stay healthy

Super cool!
But I think that red rover is a Series 2 88 not a Defender 90 unless itís had a chassis swap? In respect fitting in it, thereís nothing more uncomfortable than riding in a leaf sprung Land Rover on the road whether you fit or not!!
