Lowering spindles
Cheyenne1010:
My name is Robert and I own a 1973 Chevy C10 Cheyenne long bed and i got a frontend lowering question.ive seen all the different lowering kits on the market and my question is can I use my stock coils with a drop spindle?my understanding of a drop spindle is the shaft that the brake rotor bolts on to is raised.so can I use stock coils with drop spindles?(im looking to lower it just a little bit,not trying to slam it on the ground)
LILT77:
Yes, you can use the spindles with stock springs...but most people would do the springs first before the spindles. Springs are cheaper
Cheyenne1010:
Thank you for the information and for the reply.now I can do the install and see how it looks.
Thank you for your time
Captkaos:
Using spindles first won't change the way it rides, it will be exactly the same except lower.
Keep in mind the rear will be higher and the truck much more raked.
JohnnyPopper:
Cheaper yet is to cut your existing coil springs by one or tow circles.
