76 Eldorado Cad 500ci Swap 1979 c3500
« on: January 02, 2023, 10:29:25 PM »
Hello all, the title says it all. Before I start unbolting engines and finding another transmission for mock up, I'd like to get a second opinion if anything else is needed from the research I have been doing. (This will be my first engine swap wish me luck....)

1976 Cadillac Eldorado 30k miles.
1979 350 C3500 32k miles 4 speed Cab and Chassis 2wd.

I've read that this motor should be pretty close to bolt in apart from maybe massaging the firewall, finding a BOP TH400, and using a mixture of the 425 and 350 motor mounts. Is there anyone with any input on if this is everything major that is needed? Most forums asking these questions died in 2005 and a few never finished threads. TIA

I don't think the bolt patterns are the same but may be wrong.

I would look for a TH400 out of a Caddy sedan, the Eldo's were FWD.

Can you look for images of the motor and trans?
