« on: February 19, 2006, 08:48:00 PM »
Hey Roundedline,Your logo reminds me of my last truck everytime i enter the board.Sold it last May to a young lad just before the gas price went crazy.

So I thought I could just sell my truck and drive a leased company car but I just HAD to buy another one only2 months later.Just can't help it....

If you look you'll notice the lovely EGR valve on the motor.I work on a street that the sniffer cops hang out on.It also had cats on it as does my new project.Pain in the butt, but I can drive around with no worries.(and no more $375.00 fines)

The poor kid must of **** his pants when the price shot up and he was stuck with that gas guzzler.

What state do you live in? I don't even think we have that here in California yet. The way it looks......we may not be able to drive our trucks anymore.:\
Makes you wonder what's really going on with oil. I read contradicting reports saying we have more than enough oil and others saying it's running out.

The last report I saw said 50- 75 years left I think its like 150 years. You can see the change everything going to be enthol based whats that new add GM is doing. Its on its way.I read a study that said it would take 50 year to change fuels and to put everything in place. its just a mater of time when you will have a duel use fuel car.

I'm trying to hurry and finish my truck so I can enjoy it for a while. More and more strick laws seems to pass without our vote. As far as pulling emissions off a vehicle, technically, you aren't suppose to make any kind of mods what so ever to a vehicle. I guess we shall see what the future will hold for the hobbiest.

What I've seen up here in Canada is that everything that happens in US,our guys follow. They are now trying to get testing on ALL vehicles. That would mean cats on everything???

Ahhh!, 'Tis why I kept all of my stock emissions stuff in place when installing my 383 engine in April '04.  I was fortunate enough to have received my 79 chevy from the original owner back in '95, so everything was there and in place as stock.  Let them begin emissions testing here, I don't care, everything is in place and she still runs strong.

I do like that law in some places about if your vehicle is over 25 yrs old you are exempt....that is great for the hobbyist, there simply aren't that many older cars out there anymore and it wouldn't hurt a soul for that to be a federal guidline.

Yeah, I like the 25-30 year rolling smog law myself. Like stated, how many old cars are really on the road ways everyday? All about the mighty dollar, great politicians at work.:\
