I could be wrong but I thought Clint Eastwood was loaned one of our trucks in the movie Heartbreak Ridge.  He took a bus to the base and needed transportation, his C/O let him us his Chevy pick up.

We can see that the 73-91's were/are a very photogenic vehicle.  Perhaps the most photogenic of any pickup produced ever.

Also, as also discussed in the other post, i feel that the 87 pickup in the film "Roger and me." by Michael Moore is very significant for several reasons, and possibly the most significant 73-91 to appear on film for several reasons :  (and i'm desperately trying to locate a clip of the sequence;  If i remember correctly, it was red possibly two-tone with white, AND they had a banner that proclaimed the last truck produced in the plant or something.  Also, it showed an irate worker--because he had just lost his job.)

1)  Upon further analysis, it appears that the factory in question was not in Flint, but in the detroit suburb of  Pontiac.  So it would seem that Moore put this sequence in to illustrate the impact of a nearby city as well as the automotive business in general and it's effect on the economy of flint;  The economies of the greater Detroit area and surrounding areas are pretty much intertwined;  Flint/Davidson is not too far from Detroit.  Regardless, the truck in question could be the last 87 pickup produced?

2)  It illustrates the condition/situation of the domestic automotive industry at the time, and it's eventual fate.  i feel it actually started going downhill about 84.

The factory is definitely located in Flint.  It was on the corner of Saginaw and Atherton roads.  The factory was torn down and was turned into the Great Lakes Tech center and home to GM SPO operations.   I used to work there a couple years ago.  Since then, it has also been shuttered.  The original factory was also home to The Sitdown Strike.  The building next store was Billy Durant's office and is still standing to this day.

So that truck could very well be the last 73-87 pickup truck to be produced?

If you haven't seen "Roger and me" by Michael Moore, i recommend it.  Although, it's too late for gm.

It's actually a pretty cool looking truck too.   :)  If I remember correctly it was a red LWB 2WD Silverado.    The movie is a great chronicle of both Flint and the auto industry.  Although I'm honestly not a huge a fan of Michael Moore...

There's a K-5 blazer that the park ranger drove in the movie Broken Arrow.  Starred John Travolta and Christian Slater - awesome action flick.

Tried looking for a photo but came up empty.

Justin Moore has them all over his Small Town USA video...along with several Go Hogs caps and a good looking red Chevelle.

A guy I work with insists there is a chevy truck with the same colour scheme as mine, burgundy/silver (before teardown) in the 2009 film > The Proposal. Could anyone clarify this?
