SEPERATING DRIP RAIL

(1/2) > >>

pholliday1:
After the drip rail has been removed from truck (crewcab) Is there any good way to seperate the stainless strip from the metal mounting part. I know it's a snug/snap fit but wow its really happy where it's at.

VileZambonie:
eek, they're a PITA. I tried replacing them with a set from a company I ordered them from. I would have destroyed them trying to make them fit so I sent them back. I robbed a good set off a used one instead or shaved them off. If you manage to replace yours successfully post pics.

What's up with the ones you have?

pholliday1:
I live about 1 hour south of canada in NY we have big rust issues (road salt) My stainless part of the drip edge obviously is good its the metal that needs to be sand blasted painted etc.

thirsty:
Mine are the same way but do not warrant sand blasting. The paint is worn and surface rust is on them in areas. I was going to hand sand them, tape off the stainless part, and paint them with SEM Rust-Shield that is similar to POR-15 when they go back on my truck.
