Replacement Steering Box Borgeson or something else?
« on: August 23, 2023, 11:27:45 AM »
It's time to replace the steering box on the 86 K10.  Anyone have a long term review of the Borgeson Street & Performance Series, K-10, 12.7:1 Ratio steering box? Should I consider a RedHead or other brand instead.

Truck is sitting on 35's with 2 inch lift, all suspension and steering have replaced.

I'm thinking about doing the same on my C10.
I guess no one has a review?  :P

I've been fairly disappointed in Borgeson. the last two shafts and gearboxes didn't mate up very well either.

Steering Boxes is one result from a quick search.

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!

Can you please elaborate a little on this?
Are you saying that you got a Borgeson steering box and the correct Borgeson shaft and they don't fit together?
Or, are you saying the stock shaft doesn't fit?
I want to know what has been the problem with them. :D

I have both Red Head boxes on my '77 and '91. I have zero complaints. Red Head is in the local area, so I just went down to their business and picked them up.
