Title: Mcgaughys
Post by: Swampyankee74 on August 17, 2022, 02:59:17 PM
I am looking to order a 2.5" drop spinal kit with brakes calipers and rotors. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with mcgaughys products? Are they decent? And also looking at a 4" drop shackle kit for the back, from Belltec. Again, is it a decent product?

Belltech is good and I had the same 4" shackle hanger kit on mine before I wanted to go lower and switched them out. No problems with it. I can't speak for the McGaughy's spindles as I went with Western Chassis, but I have heard that those spindles don't fit well with most 15" wheels.

Ok, I plan on running stock 15 inch rims. You are running 15 inch rims with Western chasis no problems?

I've got the 2.5" McGaughy's on mine and they seem to be well made products.  The only thing I found is that with anything over 2" spindle and factory 15" wheels you may get rubbing.

Yes, my 15"s work with the Western Chassis spindles no problem and I know many others who say the same. The only thing is my wheels are not the factory ones so I can't comment for sure on those fitting.

You may need wheel spacers and to clearance the lower control arm depending on the wheels you have.
