question about mirrors
« on: August 02, 2010, 05:12:15 PM »
hey guys i recently bought a 86 sbsc.  Im shaving the mirrors cause i cant stand the dumbo mirrors. So i was wondering if anyone has some pictures of peep mirrors on these trucks.  i did a search and couldnt find any pictures.  Also which peep mirrors do yall think would look better the round ones or the rectangular ones.  thanks guys im just trying to get some opinions.

Well let's clarify what you consider the dumbo mirrors and the peep mirrors.

There's the 3 dumbo mirrors and then the truck mirrors, and the sport mirrors that were factory.

The late power mirrors were also used in Blazers and Suburbans.

I took the stock small rectangular mirrors off my 79 Big 10 years ago and put the bigger ones on for pulling my trailer.  Check out the pics of the green monster from this link, maybe this is what you're talking about

I think I put mine on too far back.

83 citation - 2.5L Four on the Floor!
88 sierra - reman 350 700r4 "Eleanor"
All normal practicality and rational money handling goes out of the window when it comes to my truck.

ok when i say dumbo mirrors i mean the stock style mirrors. Im never gonna tow with the truck so thats not a concern.  And the only reason i was looking at the peep mirrors was to satisfy the cops.

I have them on my truck. I like the look of them, but for me, they are way too small for function.

If you ever look straight on at one of these trucks they look pretty silly without any mirrors. From a side view it looks good but just stand head on as most people will see you coming down the road....  :-\ At the very least I would run the sport mirrors.
