primer question

its going to be a wile before my truck gets painted,and what i would like to know is can i use that cheap rattlecan primer from wallmart called brite touch semi gloss black to keep from driving around with two different colored fenders and doors while i do my shaving also ohrieleys has some stuff called hot rod black (hi prime)would that be better as far as when i do paint it ..iv been told that the rattle can stuff wont stick and when you paint over it later you have huge problems somebody please set me straight on this ..i want the black look from the 50s and 60s untill it gets painted

JMB i answered part of this on the other page but, if you want the 50's look use one of the primers we suggested on the other page and top coat it with a flat black lacquer primer. If I remember correctly Duponts # is 181 for flat black.
