Hi fellas sorry I haven't posted sooner I've been real busy this summer with work and getting the little ones ready for school and trying to get some GMC time in  :-\  Anyways, nice meeting y'all guys and I'll have pics of the tear down some what step by step. In case any of yall experts see something u recommend I do differently, keep in mind tho that this is a budget build so I don't plan to dump to much cash into this one. Oh my name is Pete btw!  8)

You can be resourceful these days with Craigslist, eBay etc. 74 GMC is my favorite :)

So....I own a 1974 GMC 1500, I traded a 98 envoy that ran like crap for it. I figured if I was gonna work on something it would b something I'm going to keep. Doesn't make sense to dump a bunch of cash into something your gonna give up later down the road. Anyways, I had my wonderful wife help me pull the pick up home  :o which went good then pulled out the wrenches and had it started in about half an hr. After getting it started I took it out for a spin which was really rough but with a lot of power. Park it after my little fun then dug in deeper to find out what was roaring underneath the hood. Pulled numbers look them up and came out to a big block 455! This made me really super excited!
