I have two '86 regular cab K30 duallies.  One of 'em (Rico) is a SM465/205 combo, and happens to be parked in the garage tonight.  The other (Max) has been at my Cousin's P&B shop for the last eight-or-so months. >:(

Anyhoo, your thread had me curious.  So, I ran-out to the garage, a few minutes back, and shined the flashlight onto Rico's belly.  On my truck, the droops in the crossmember are symmetrical toward the deck.

I you need me to, I can snap a pic or two of the C/M. (*I also know a guy [locally] who has about a billion scavenged parts, from several Square Body trucks.  I'm not going to promise anything.  But, I may be able to source one, if you are willing to spring for the price+shipping.  I'd only do this because I know the PIA of finding certain parts.)

Lemme' know if I can help,

J.J.

EDIT- One of the things that clued me is the skid-plate in your pic.  I've owned enough K30s to know that the skid-plate in your pic ain't the right one.

Yes pictures and knowledge of the same setup would be very much appreciated.

And yes I would be fine with covering the cost and shipping.

Im assuming your truck (Rico) is a 32 spline sm465 and a 6 bolt round pattern adapter and transfer case.

This seems to be key as to the location of the height of where the adapter mounts and the style of mount being the newer one piece and not the old style that sandwiched the flat crossmember.

The height of the wood block under the adapter is approximately 5.5 inches.

Hey Bb,

Sorry I haven't gotten back with you.  My week exploded after I posted the other night.

I hope to be in the truck today, and will try to get a pic or two.

Okay, here we go...

Because my truck is an '86, my 205 is the six bolt pattern. (*I tried to get a better pic, but would need an arm shaped like the letter "Z")   Mine was built and stamped on 03-10-86.

Thanks.  I humbly agree that Rico is handsome.  And yes, he has the 60F/70HD combo...which was pretty standard for the K30 duallies.

The crossmember you posted is the one for which I will look.  I'm not going to promise anything, but will tell you that, even as late as a year ago, the guy I posted about was doing a lot of selling and trading locally.  I'm pretty busy, as is he (being a Commercial/Master Plumber).  So, it may be a few days before I find him away from one of his many jobs. (*Construction is CRAZY right now, in and around San Antone)

Well I found a crossmember that mounts the transmission adapter correctly but its not the ultimate one and I am holding out for the W crossmember that hopefully will let me use the exhaust in its current configuration and not require modification via a muffler shop.

So again looking for the W crossmember..
Pictures of it are posted below.

Thanks again for any assist.
