Broken retainer / ring behind hub
« on: March 09, 2021, 05:36:23 PM »
I have a 87 Chevy V20 4x4. I need to replace the front wheel bearings as I have a lot of play in the tire. I removed the hub assembly (manual) and the “ring” thats in the groove is in many pieces. Looking to buy new ones but don’t know what they are called or where to purchase. Any help is great and how to remove. Thanks in advance.

You should inspect the bearings- one thing to be loose and quite another to be worn out.

Can you send a pic of the part you speak of, we can be more help if we know what it's called too.
