lowering bench seat
« on: March 22, 2021, 09:15:33 AM »
has anyone figured out how lower the bench seat in the square bodies?  I have a 1974 long bed and I just reinstalled my seat after having it redone but now it's a pretty tight fit...I'm not a big guy by any stretch...5'11" and about 190.... With the old seat the foam had compressed so much that there were no issues, now with the seat all the way back I still feel like I'm on top of the steering wheel and there's not a lot of room between the wheel and my legs.

Column is non tilt and it's a 3 speed column shift so replacing that is not an option.  Could swap for a smaller wheel but I'd really rather get the seat lower and back a tad further if possible.  I saw a company that made custom brackets for the 67-72 but haven't been able to locate anything for the squares.  Seat bracketry is original, new foam from   and a new cover from Auto Kustoms in Kentucky.
