Rear 12 bolt Differential
« on: August 03, 2021, 08:33:31 PM »
Good evening everyone,

My name is Caleb Leonard and I am new to the forum. I am the proud owner of 1974 Cheyenne Super that is under some restoration at the time. I have a question about selecting the proper carrier with kit and gear ratio for my rear diff. Right now it is the stock 12 bolt truck carrier which is an open differential with a 3:08 ratio. I was thinking of an LSD carrier with a 3:73 ratio. What is the best carrier? Do they have good kits with the ring and pinion gears plus shims? Right now as far as the rest of the drive train goes it has an LS swap with the LM7 Engine that has a comp cam and the tranny is a TH400. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

What size tires? Summit Racing and Jegs, sell install kits with their LSD's. I suggest them because they have good product support as well, should you have any issues.
