Well I got the engine all together and painted. I'll be putting all the impliments on and taking some pix next week. I decided to paint the engine hammered black. It looks really cool. I'm not sure if I'm gonna still go green though....

 :o Oooooo Shiney!!! :o
Are those the 88-up headers?
+1 If they are, how much do you got modify an Aftermarket 73-87 True-Dual Setup to work with them???  Would love to add a Pair to my '77, but I was wondering the mods needed to be done, and how they would clear the 4WD Frame???

Will that hammered black hold up to heat?

The paint came out teriffic! I took more pix but had no time to post them today. That paint I used a little but of medium reducer and sprayed 3 coats within 24 hours. It'll hold up just fine and those are 88 up headers with vortec heads. I'm going to put a TBI adapter on that manifold.

The only thing I've ever had to do to make these headers work is make a small clearance on the frame where the O2 bung is. They work awesome, look good, and never leak. I took pix of them installed on a few trucks in different posts. This'll be the 6th set I've used. Just be aware they make 2 different types. Get the ones with the rounded flanges like these:

That gorgeous engine won't look right in a lime green truck. Well it probably would but I'm  glad you're thinking of another color for the truck. It looks like a lot of rod builders are now going with flatter colors. (No shine)

Hey Thanks for the Info Vile! 8) My '77 doesn't need an O2 sensor,  so I won't need to notch for one.....

OK I've got the cab in place on it's new body mounts. All the rot cut out and welded up. The cab corners and rockers and floors are done. I still have to drill out the snapped off seat belt bolts. I plan on finishing getting the cab prepped then primed and painting the firewall black. Then I can get the engine sitting in place. I think the color is the big dilemma here still. I may need to make a poll on some of my color ideas. more pix soon

What colors do you have in mind?

I could do you up some pics like I did for 78 Chevyrado if you like. I have all next week off, so I would have time to do a few.

Well I was thinking originally lime green with all chrome blacked out. But now I'm considering Orange, Red, Charcoal, and am open to suggestions. No black, white or blue though.
