Can someone help me identify the rear axle of my 1974 Chevy K10? I tried searching for what these identification numbers mean, but cant seem to find anything. Would an axle like this be original on a 74 Chevy K10, or might it have been a swap?
On the front driver side, it looks like theres a "GM 55" stamped into the axle.

Above the "GM 55", there looks like a dial of some sort :

Finally, I see these identification numbers on the rear passenger side webbing. It looks like a "CON?". I can't make out the 4th character. It looks like a deformed 2, but I doubt thats it.

12 bolt, should be numbers on the right axle tube front or top.
Gives original gear ratio, plant, day of year and shift assembled.
Also date code of housing on the webbing.

Thanks for the response blazer74. I figured there was a code somewhere on the axle but I had issues finding it. I'll try cleaning that area up more thoroughly when I get a chance.

It looks like
KBX W155 2 F
So I assume this is how I decode it.
KBX = Locking Differential 3.73:1
W = Warren plant
155 = 155th day
2 = Shift 2
F = ?

The F is the posi traction source code. It could be a poorly stamped E which would be Eaton Posi.

Maybe someone could help me with my axle code. I can’t find it in any books. It’s a 12 bolt 1980 GMC High Sierra 4wd truck rear end. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190517/1e3fd08546f0e1ab24f4f1bf54b42388.jpg)
Looks like TBU 278 01

TBU 3.08 ratio
278 day of the year.
01 shift
Don’t see a plant code
Actual date should be cast in the center housing near the vent tube. (IE A84 is Jan 8 1974).
