Coil spring air bags
« on: February 06, 2020, 08:36:17 AM »
I have a 2006 Pathfinder and it rides like a boat on top of a tank. After all new shocks, the front end is pretty good, but the rear is still floaty and has that "bottom out" feel when going over a dip or rise in the road, if i have passengers its like sitting in the back of a school bus. Some research shows that coil spring air bags was the only solution. Anyone agree with this? Are they a waste or do they really work? This is for a simple application, no hauling at all.

I think the problem is just a poor factory design.

That sounds like a reasonable solution to the issue you are having.

Have you thoroughly inspected the control arms, ball joints, differential mount, body mounts etc?
