Washer nozzels with cowl hood on a 73-80?
« on: May 06, 2009, 01:04:17 PM »
On 73-80 models with a cowl induction hood, where do you put the washer nozzels? The cowl hood doesn't have the louvers where the nozzels mount. My cousin was parting out an 87 V30 so I grabbed the wet wiper arms off of it. I also got the little metal tubing transition pieces. They don't bolt right on the to 79 cowl so I'm in the process of making them work. The wiper arm shafts are shorter on the 79 so I have to put a loop in the hoses at the base of the arms and rebend the metal tubes on the transition pieces. I think what I came up with will work ok, but I am just wondering how others have done it.

On a slightly different note, has anyone changed from the 'pulse' mechanical washer pump to an inline electric one?

You can convert it to the later style with the sprayer on the blade or mount them to the cowl.

Yes you can install your own electric in tank pump.

newer style chevy trucks wiper nozzles are on the arms, get them and some small washer hose and clip em on your arms and connect the hoses...they are like 12 bucks for the pair and the hose is cheap....
