I just replaced the carb on my 1986 Chevy k20 from an Edelbrock 1910 to a 1406. I went to start the truck and it won't stay running. It will start but shut off after 5-10 seconds of running. PLEASE HELP!!!

Junk and chunk it.....it's what an edelbrock does

Is the choke plate open or closed?
Did you adjust the idle mixture screws?
Did you advance the idle throttle screw?
Did you advance the fast idle throttle screw?
-
and did you hook up the brake booster or at least plug the port in the back of the carburetor? check for vacuum leaks?
-
And, is it a new carb or has it been sitting on the shelf for a while?
-
I didn't touch the adjustment screws and yes the brake booster is hooked up in the back.
Could it just need to be adjusted?

So, why did you replace it.
What was the problem with the other carb?

What makes you think you can just drop a carb on a vehicle and not adjust it per the instructions?
