what to do on a 85 dash??

dash in my 85 gmc is all cracked up.looking for ideas to fix it?new is to much for $$ for me.what about sanding it down and filling in the cracks with epoxy or something then painting?any ideas are welcome good or bad ;D thanks

are you taking abot your dash pad or metal dash

On ebay they do sell dash pad covers that go over the original dashpad.If thats not your fancy you can always take some cloth material and take some spray adhesive you find in parts stores and do that.But i think the dash covers be the best way to go.

You can fill the cracks and sand and prime and paint and go for the smooth look. It's gonna take a lot of work though. Chris here sells the dash caps.

ya not really into the dash cap thing.maybe just a dash mat ;D.where would i look at the materials to smooth it and paint it?

yea, i have a dash mat on my '83 and i like it.  it works until i get the new dash pad later on, and that'll have a dash mat on it too...just a different color one...

I can get you a new 81-91 dash, they are backordered right now though.  Has to be painted to match.

i thought about using fiberglass cloth and epoxy on my old one and painting it, just as a trial to see how it comes out. try and find a good looking way to keep the holes for the speakers and the defrost open obivously. a project i might get to one day
