Armrest Pads, Door Panel Trim Inserts, and Drink Holders???
« on: April 26, 2008, 04:36:38 AM »
Looking to replace some worn interior items and seeking advice on the best source for the following:

1)Armrest Pads (Here,  , Classic Industries, Year One?)
-Classic Industries Replacement $19.95 each w/ choice of color
-Classic Industries Original GM Replacement $61.99 each, paint to match
-YearOne Aftermarket $82.00 a pair w/ choice of color
-  Reproduction $39.95 per set for black or $69.95 per set for color
-73-87ChevyTrucks.com $38.95 each, paint to match

Looking for a quality pad to replace a worn drivers side, but would replace the pair if needed to match.  Interior is blue, but black would work as well.  Any experience or knowledge of the differences between those listed?

2)Door Panel Trim Inserts (Classic Industries or  ?)
-Classic Industries $54.99 for the left and $52.99 for the right
-  $39.95 for a set

Silverado trim, any difference between those listed other than price?  A smooth insert without the pull strap mounting holes is available from   as well, would this be a direct replacement for the original insert with the pull strap as far as mounting is concerned?  Though of maybe doing away with the original pull straps all together.

3)Anyone have any experience with the "Plug and Chug" Dashboard Drink Holder that mounts into the ash tray?

Thanks for your help...

Personally, I would keep the Pullstraps and adapt the new trim panels, if required to mount them!!!   My truck doesn't currently have them, neither does my car, and both of them their armrests are trash because of it!!! >:( :-[  Soon as I get a chance, they both are getting straps, or pull handles ;)

I too want to know about the Ashtray Cup Holders, as I am a Non-Smoker who could care if those were missing or usable >:(

You want to see what a set of ours looks like?  Generally speaking, everyone pretty much sells the same parts....

I have a plug & chug in my 90 Suburban...love it!  The only gripe is that it does not hold bottled water.  It holds cans and most fountain cups no problem.

bigblock73,

Is your P&C factory equipment or was it after market?

I've often thought that some cup\beverage holders in my 86 GMC truck would be a handy feature as well :)

Aftermarket.  GM didn't provide cup holders in these trucks unless the vehicle had a center console.
