1986 C10 Speedhut Gauge install
« on: March 01, 2015, 07:11:47 PM »
I am starting on a gauge upgrade for my truck. I have decided to go with Speedhut gauges because i think i can do the install them without having to cut or splice into the harness using the stock printed circuit. I will have to see how it goes.

This is what i have now.

4" GPS speedo it has several features like 1/4 mile speed, top speed and others.

Small gauges oil, water and volts are 2 1/16 fuel is 3 3/8 they do not offer a 4" fuel gauge.

My original gauges had a clock i will replace it with a wideband AFR gauge 2 1/16 also.

I bought this donor cluster off ebay for $50 bucks all but the speedo works. I am going to keep my original cluster for future projects. I will post pics as i go let me know what you think.

This is how i will mount the gauges.

I still have to do the AFR gauge. The fuel gauge i mounted low to cover the hole from the lights that were there.

I had to do some trimming.

I did not have a lot left to do. I had an issue with the fuel gauge wiring it ended up that it had to share the same ground as the sending unit. Other than that real simple. The beat thing is i did not have to cut or splice any of the original wiring.

You can click on the 2 pics for the video. they are also links to all the pics of this install. I am unable to resize them SORRY
