Title: Puzzled
Post by: Tazman on January 29, 2013, 05:59:20 PM
Coming home on the freeway my acted like it was going againest very strong wind when the check engine light came on.Within a minute it was gone and running fine, yet did it again a little later. Then it got so bad I started losing speed and was pulling off to the side when it cleared up again and ran great the rest of the way home.Once home I checked the codes to find 33 (Map sensor high voltage) and 44(Lean exhaust. The map sensor was replaced a few months ago the only thing I can think of right away is I was under a quarter tank of gas and might have gotten some junk in the line.I will fill it with gas and try it again in the morning. It has a stock 350 with the TBI and a 700r tranny. Thanks

Lean code?

Might be the fuel pressure regulator acting up. Other problem could be fuel pump. Do you have dual tanks? Does it do it on both tanks?

Yes it has duals but I have never used the other side. The regulator and fuel pump have both been replaced less than a year ago.

Check the fuel filter.  TBI filters plug easily, because they have a fine micron rating.

Why did you replace the MAP sensor, fuel pump, and pressure regulator?
