Air Temps
« on: May 02, 2015, 11:13:14 AM »
Is it possible that an engine can run differently when outside air temps rise? My reason for asking is this. I have a short 11 mile drive to work and in the morning at 4am it is in the sixties, the truck runs great. Yet when coming home it will be in the 80's or low 90's and it can run rougher at times. Thanks

Yes it can. I believe it's when the fuel gets to hot before it enters the engine and it vaporizes. but it could be lots of other things too. Coil not working as much with higher ambient temps or maybe a spark plug wire loosing it's conductivity. Just a few ideas.
