1990's seat in 85 c20??
« on: September 09, 2015, 10:55:14 PM »
I'm relatively new here so bare with me. If I missed an existing thread on this topic feel free to lead me in the right direction.

I was snooping through craigslist and found a newly reupholstered bench seat from a 1991 Chevy pickup for a pretty good price. My seat in my 85 is intact but horribly faded, dirty, and overall gross looking. Does anyone know how well a 90's bench will fit in a C20? I doubt its a direct bolt in, but will there be tons of modification needed or just a couple new holes? Suggestions? Better options?

I have a 60/40 bench out of a newer body style truck but the seat brackets have been chopped and cut, I know it'll work but not how to explain the modifications

its about 6" shorter than ours, so its 3" on each side. may not seam like much but you will find yourself sliding in between the door and seat gap

That doesn't sound like much fun lol. Maybe I'll just have mine recovered or see if I can get my mother to fire up the sewing machine (since neither me nor my lady can run one :P ) and make a slip on cover for my seat.

All in the preference I suppose but I like the seat, but I'm not happy it's red, I'd rather have buckets and will most likely switch soon, will try and get a pic or two this weekend.

i just put a carpet and buckets and console in my 82 from a 93, the biggest issue was the seat brackets which i had to build used the 2 brackets off the old bench, made the bracket for the other side of the seats, they are very comfy compared to the old bench, the carpet also doesnt fit perfect but im happy with it over no carpet and it deadens the sound a ton!
