I already have roller rockers I'm putting in a roller cam and lifters. The engine has to be bored and I have to locate the same style pistons. Luckily I have a TRW catalog that I can hopefully find a match. Anyway I just finished ripping it all apart. The bottom of the lifter blew out and that's why it ground up the cam. Thanks to my dog for all the technical assistance.... What a Saturday night! lol

Nice. Looking really good. What else are you going to do to it? I heard the crank shafts are like 100lbs or so...was it heavy?
Mine's bigger

If you would like I will remove it. Yes, it is pretty much a boat anchor. I was going to use it as a project but I decided not too. It is a 460, being bigger than a 454, but you could have bored yours and what not. I was just making a joke.

Hey Vile, What does the prelube system look like?
I wish I had a little of your knowledge, when it comes to motors

Thanks Vile,
I have a Ford Expedition (no flames please) that gets very little use and that would seem like a good idea for it.

oil prices go up and the quality goes down. You really need to do as much as possible when you are spending mad coin on an engine to keep it nice n fresh. The pre-lube system only helps avoid dry starts so I figured it was a worthwile investment. Not so sure how much it will make a difference on a daily driver but something that sits a lot will surely benefit.

Great! The cylinder block is being bored right now along with the new pistons being put on the rods. I just finished porting the cylinder heads and am going to clean up the valves and seats again. Once I get the block back it's time to start re-assembly. By this weekend I'll have some fresh new pix

I know you're using a new cam, but just wondered- can that old cam be cleaned and refurbed or are they just junk?
