Ok rewiring my truck
« on: August 30, 2010, 05:33:02 AM »
I have had to re wire my truck.  have done a complete re build on this truck. Needless to say the wiring had been a mess. It has been screwed with by every body over the years. My truck is an 85 4x4 shorty. My problem is this. on my dash there is a spot for a dual tank switch but the switch is no longer there. I have replaced the old tank and put in a new sending unit. on my tank there is a pink wire with a cap that goes to the send ing unit. I have traced this wire up to the main wiring harness. but I can't seem to find where the other switch would be, should there not be two wires? one going to the switch? I do have a another plug type that joins this pink wire together like the one at the sending unit. It was in rough shape so I just cut it out and hooked the wires together. is that all right to do?

As long as the gauge works and you're not blowing fuses, you're fine.
