i need a good wiring harness for my 74 chevy thats not too expensive. i dont know anything about electronics and wiring cause it never really interested me so i never messed around with it or did research on it. i want to put all mechanical custom gauges in the truck too if that matters for what harness i would need. id really appreciate it if someone would help me by posting some links and helping me out with this

If you are planning on custom wiring and gauges I would suggest you definitely do your homework on electrical systems.

I did a similar re-wiring job on my '71 when I had it torn down. I used the EZ wiring harness, and it is fairly easy to do. Mine was a complete aftermarket re-wire though. All aftermarket gauges, a/c, stereo, cooling fans, etc. I re-used very little of the factory components. Just things like the ignition switch, wiper motor, headlights and tail lights. If I were to do another one, I'd still use the the EZ harness again, it just might require a bit more head scratching when more factory components are used.
There are two tools needed, duct tape and WD40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD 40.

I've used painless performance for years, but they are spendy. I think my next one I'm gonna do myself, I want total invisibility, though my next truck is prolly gonna be a dd
