Tranny swap or no?

I've come across a complete 96 Vortec 350 engine for $500
that I'm thinking of getting to replace my stock 305. The only thing I'm curious of is if my stock TH350 tranny can be used with this engine, or would I need to find a matching tranny?

If the engine you have currently is the stock engine it should be a direct swap.

Im assuming your truck is a 86. If your not gonna use the serpentine belt then make sure you change your water pump. The impellers in the water pumps are diffrent.
