Title: Nabbed an old school sleeper finally
Post by: zieg85 on April 25, 2019, 07:36:28 AM
I found this on my local Marketplace screaming BUY ME!  Struck a deal and here it is.  Perfect for traveling with my 2 Chows when I put it back on the road.  Have it sitting on my parts truck at the moment

Only took these 3.  Looks weird on the shortbed truck but I had to put it on something to make sure I was going to like it enough to keep it.  I just bought it on measurements as they had no clue what truck it was meant for

I was also wondering how you get into it to sleep as well as wondering how that can be any more safe or comfortable then a bench seat?

The entrance is through the rear window of the truck.  The front window of the sleeper has a gasket that is supposed to seal against the back of the cab.  It would be a tight fit for the average person but my dogs are going to fit fine.  The little side windows slide open and have screens.  Probably back in the day they just removed the window on the truck for a complete pass through.

i was thinking i know back in my early 20s it was a tight fit, couldnt see how it would be easy to squeeze in there. thought it was more of a luggage space but makes sense with pups

Probably back in the day kids or grand kids would have loved it!

Nice find. That's cool.
Am I the only 1 that clicked on this thinking that Zieg found a short bed 2 w.d..truck with a monster big block under the hood?

In the 90's, there were a lot of those sleepers on rodeo trucks.  It's out of the ordinary to see one now that everyone has crew cabs.

The guy who sold me my long bed was trying to give me one of those free, but this one had a little door on the backside,  i thought it would look goofy so i said no thanks...now i think i want it
