She has got a keen sense of smell and can tell when I drive it.  It is running rich cause the carb needs work and everytime I run it, she complains that I smell like fuel.

That funny, mine does the same thing. Even though she knows what the smell is she will still ask "What is that smell!!". I just tell her it's called "Old Whity" do you like it? lol

Got me to chuckle...

Night before last I had some solvent out spot cleaning an engine to get the numbers off of it and she came home 3 hours later and asked what I had been doing out there.  Separate garages, sealed door with a gasket, just a little Xylene on a rag was all.... I didn't soak anything...  She can tell when I need to check the LP in the tank the way the burning gas smells on the cooktop.  Go figure

You could have guess what I call my 78' K20 it's "the dream" , my reason is that I have had a lot of achievements in my life, some that other people may think that is a big thing or a big goal, but nothing I have done has really fullfilled my sense of really doing something. But not this, the TRUCK is my dream, I have spent hours and hours reading and doing some research to build this truck, It was love at first sight, ever since I was a little kid I wanted one of these, and its my first project, from reading posts from this comunity I'm going to probably end up like a lot of you guys and have a collection, the more I see all the things that you can do with these you just cant have one, you need to have several with different body styles and utilities LOL !  ;D
Never give up.

Mine was already named "The Green Machine" when I got it.
It's always darkest just before it goes pitch black.

Mine is simply "THE TRUCK" to my wife. When we leave she says " are we taking "the truck"  " the car" or " the bike".  When i had 2 trucks she would just say "the good truck" or "that old truck" :-\

Ole Bluey for now...not sure what I'm going to call it after I change the color. lol

my grandpa's 85 C-20 is "Nightmare". Its midnight blue but it gets it's name by it's brakes.  We got it a city auction(I believe) when I was probably 8 or 9.  I drove the truck from a young age and the diaphragm in the brake booster had developed a hole in it. all you heard when you hit the brakes was a hiss of air and then SLAM! my dog hit the dashboard many times because of that. lol got that fixed, now front brake line busted and rear's lock up with just a tap of the brake.....bout rolled it a couple times cause of this. lol

I LIKE FLIPPER!!!  :D

here are some pics of the first time the rears locked up on dad.  it was a bad deal..... :(

This happened almost 2 years ago. I think, still to this day, there is still small rocks lodged between the bead and the rim of the tire. not good.

lesson in this.....MAKE SURE YOU FIX YOUR BRAKES!!!

1982 K10 Short bed....."Bertha"

No story behind it, it just fits.
1982 Shortbed K10 Silverado.  305 ci with a mild cam, full true dual exhaust (Long tube headers, "H" pipe, and Thrush Turbo mufflers.  4x4, and otherwise completely stock.  about 153,000 miles.

My friend got his daughter calling my 74 ....."the Truckieto"

My other cars

1972 Malibu was "The Fuzzy Car"  the plates was FZY for the letters
1967 Malibu was " 1 Lame Trash Pile"  back to the plates again
1972 Camaro "the Pickle" it was green, I said I would never own a green car I was wrong.
1971 Monte Carlo "Blue Thunder" it is blue and loud with its 406 SB
1968 Malibu "the Joker or Jester" don't know why it is just what I have called it (when I'm being nice) the James Dean's Porsche name would be good for it too.

The friend who named the Truckieto had a Burban with Frigdeaire on the tailgate (yes it was appliance white) the F in Frigdeaire was like the F on a Fender Guitar (my suggestion).
