Well, I bought another one. A friend of mine had it for like 10 years. I just sold the bed off of it because I am going to put my GMC bed on it. The cab is stripped and unbolted and I am doing a frame up resto on it. So I can't decide what I want to build for a powerplant yet but I'll surely make it cool. I've already rebuilt a 700R4 and NP241 Tcase for it. The only thing I don't like about it is no AC but it will be a slick looking ride. I'm thinking Deep Lime green and all blacked out chrome.  ;D Will post pix soon...

Tonight I sanded the frame and coated it with POR-15. Tomorrow I will touch everything up and take some pix if I can remember to get batteries for my camera.

The Prestone Green looks like it's going to be a good looking truck in the long run 8)  Could I put my vote in for not going with the pink side markers too ;D

OK well here's a few grainy pix of my progress...

Frame is all stripped and coated

The cab corners and rockers are in and the bottom of the cab under coated. I do have to patch one spot in the floor as you can see.....

Thanks yes I'm going to paint everything underneath once the cab is back sitting on it's mounts. This way I can put it up on the lift. I'd have more time to spend on this if I didn't have my 74 in a zillion pieces along with the engine out now too... ;D

Tell me about it! I am not sure what I am going to use for a power plant. I just built a 700R4 specifically for it and am using an NP241. I have a set of vortec heads I rebuilt sitting there that would sit nicely on a 383 I'm thinking but we'll have to wait and see. I have the cab sitting on it's mounts now so I can finish sanding and priming it. The bed from my 74 which is mint is going on this truck so I only have to worry about the cab. The rest is bolt together once I edge and paint everything. This truck should go together fairly nicely! The only thing that kinda sux is it's a no AC cab.

If your going to use the axle in the pic it appears to be a dana 44 not a dana 60

 The dana 60 has king pins instead of ball joints. Also on right side  passenger side where the leafs mount they mount with bolts on the inside and the out side mounts with a u bolt

Could always do Vintage Air.  They make one for both Non AC and AC 73-87's.

I have an after market A/C that mounts under the dash and the compressor. I bought for another project that I don't need.
