87 chevy k10
« on: November 05, 2006, 10:28:00 PM »
Hey everybody, first off let me start of by saying this is an excellant forum. I'm new here, i'm also new to chevy's. I've grown up with fords, i still own a 02 f350 powerstroke. I just bought an 87 chevy silverado k10. Its definetally a project, its just going to be a mud truck, trailered everywhere no on road driving. I bought it with no motor, it origanally had a 305tbi. I see a bunch of wires yet i see no computers or modules. I want to build a 350 for it and i think it would be easier to go with a carb instead of the tbi. I would like some opinions on what i should do. i could also use some help on if i do go with a carburated engine which wires can and cannot be deleted. Sorry for the long post and thanks for any help in advanced.

Welcome from N.H. The computer should be behind the glove box with a harness exiting to the engine right behind where the distributor cap would be located with engine installed.
Mud truck only needs the basics, starter, altinator, and gauges.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs
