Bought the wrong FJ Steering to swap out?

Aaaargh!!! I guess I messed up. I thought I bought the right Jeep Steering to swap out on my 1986 C10, and I should've double-checked it before drilling an extra hole in it!!! #rookiemistake

Steering won't expand anymore. It stops about 3/4" short of the steering box shaft.

Gosh darn it!!!

About 8 years ago I went to the yard and meticulously chose my jeep steering shaft based on the research I had done. Went home and it wasn't even close 😆 I just replaced the rag joint and gave up.

If I remember correctly, the shaft on my steering box wasn't even close to fitting that one on the jeep shaft

Edit, I tried to used
a JK shaft so not sure if that was the issue.

VileZambonie:
Do you mean XJ?

berserk:
Yes lol I work 3rd shift and was out of coffee when I wrote that, it was an XJ. We had a row of them in the Pull a Part OKC years ago and I had the pick of the litter. I was disappointed when it didn't work out 😆 I just bought a new rag joint and called it good. But they don't make them like they used to and it dry rotted in under 15,000 miles.
